The Lagos-Ibadan railway is part of the Nigerian Railway Modernization Project, consisting in the realization of a new standard gauge railway line from Lagos to Kano with connections to Abuja, via Minna and Kaduna, total length 1315 km. The estimated project cost is US$1.5 billion.

I can see that there are a few other rail projects related to this one. When will more railroads be constructed though, some of us are tired of spending time in traffic.

This rail line project has helped a lot of people avoid the Lagos-Ibadan expressway stress and it's been reducing traffic as well

I’m of the opinion that more railways should be modernised / constructed to help reduce congestion on major highways. This project is definitely a positive one.
